Save the Date for the Alexandria Holiday Boat Parade of Lights on Dec. 7

There are plenty of holiday parades to look forward to, but only one marries the beauty of twinkling lights with the glistening Potomac River—the Alexandria Holiday Boat Parade of Lights, when the waterfront is lit up with dozens of decorated boats. The parade stretches down one mile of the Potomac in Old Town’s waterfront park, and can be viewed at five different locations. Find a cozy spot dockside to enjoy different vessels decked out in their holiday best, plus plenty of other festivities on land to commemorate the parade’s 20th year.
The Alexandria Holiday Boat Parade of Lights is set for Saturday, December 7 at 7 p.m. The later evening hour means that the dazzling lights will bounce off and reflect on the water, making for an especially spectacular show. No admission or tickets are needed for this special event.
