Broaden Your Horizons at the Alexandria History Museum at The Lyceum
August 3rd, 2020
Since its original founding in 1838, the Alexandria Lyceum has worked to improve the opportunities for civic education and cultural enrichment for city residents. Today that includes the Alexandria History Museum located at the Lyceum. This unique museum offers a variety of exhibits that explore the region’s history, including a visual history of faith in Alexandria (106 photographic images of local worship communities), architectural histories of the museum building’s many different functions over the decades, and contemporary social justice community projects (with take-home elements you can continue after your visit is finished).
The museum is currently open to visitors in a limited capacity, with mask and social distancing requirements in place. Pro tip: plan ahead and reserve your timed ticket online before arriving so that you don’t have to wait before entering. Tickets are $3 or fee for Alexandria residents.
