Bagel Uprising was once a popular vendor at local Farmers Markets, with devotees hunting down the doughy delights each week. There is now a permanent location in Del Ray, and it relies on the same simple philosophy to churn out the signature bagels. Each are made with just five ingredients, and Bagel Uprising only offers five flavors. And as it turns out, plain, sesame, everything, poppy, and salt are all the versions you’ll ever need. Add a schmear or classic sandwich-style toppings, and you’re done. The other great thing about Bagel Uprising’s bagels are the size. If you are eating a bit more consciously, you can feel good about the reasonable portion that leaves you feeling full but not horribly guilty. Find Bagel Uprising in Potomac on Mt Vernon Avenue. Door are open daily (except Tuesdays) until 3 p.m. or until the bagels are gone, so get there early if you simply must have your fix.
