Get Some Fresh Air with the Capital Bikeshare
Are you looking for a fun way to explore Alexandria (and get some exercise) this spring? Consider hopping on a cycle provided by the Capital Bikeshare. The extensive network of bikes for rent stretches from Washington, D.C. to Maryland and Virginia with a collection of more than 3,700 bikes scattered across 440 docking stations.
Alexandria plays host to a group of more than 30 of those stations sprinkled all over town. There’s no need to reserve your bike ahead of time! Simply find a station nearby and pay for your rental on the spot. You can opt for a single trip (of 30 minutes or less), or pay ahead for 24 hours or three days. Each pass includes half-hour trips throughout Alexandria. On a sunny March day, glide along the waterfront’s bike trails or hit the bike lanes in Old Town to do a bit of shopping and sightseeing. You won’t have to worry about parking, and you’ll get your workout in at the same time when you take advantage of the Capital Bikeshare.
